Legendary Aspects in Diablo 4 are unique modifiers that can transform Rare items into Legendary ones. By carefully selecting and imprinting these Aspects, you can shape your character's destiny and become a force to be reckoned with. If you're confused about where you can find them, don't worry — we've compiled a comprehensive overview of everything you need to know.
The first way is to simply get lucky with random Legendary drops. You won't see many of these before Level 25, but once you get past that milestone, you'll start seeing the occasional Legendary drop from Elite monsters, bosses, Treasure Goblins, and completed World Events. Rarely, you may also get Legendaries as quest rewards. While playing post-campaign endgame content from Level 50 onwards, Legendaries will drop much more frequently in activities like Nightmare Dungeons and Helltides. Of course, you can also get more Diablo 4 gold and items!
Additionally, you can also earn Legendary Aspects and add them to a collection called the Codex of Power by completing the dungeons located throughout Sanctuary (each dungeon has one Aspect for players to acquire). Once an Aspect is in your Codex of Power, you can visit Occultist vendors in major settlements to imprint the Aspect onto a Rare item, essentially turning it into a Legendary via crafting.
Note that some aspects are exclusively available from Legendary random drops and can't be added to the Codex of Power. Also, Legendary drops may have stronger versions of Aspects than what you can get from imprints, so be on the lookout for particularly high bonuses.
Regardless of how you obtained your Legendary Aspect, each has a specific type and slot. It is important to note, however, that some item slots, such as Amulets, can yield an increased Legendary Power when imprinted. The current types and also slots are as follows:
Offensive – Amulets, Gloves, Ring, Weapons
Defensive – Amulets, Chest, Helm, Legs, Shield
Mobility – Amulets, Boots
Resource – Rings
Utility – Amulets, Boots, Chest, Gloves, Helm, Shield
All in all, these Legendary Aspects can help you take your gear to an entirely new level in Diablo 4, so as you explore Sanctuary and take the fight to Lilith, it's critical that you keep an eye out for them.
