You may aim your pool cue with the mouse and adjust the force of your shot by clicking and dragging. To take your shot, let go of the mouse button.

When the cue ball has arrow icons all around it, you can click and drag the ball by doing so. Only when you are breaking or when your opponent fouls will this occur. You really shouldn't start playing 8 ball pool unless you have a lot of free time on your hands.
Although "house rules" differ, WPA rules are used in this variation of 8 Ball Pool.
Players are given solids and stripes based on the first ball they pot after the break. That type is given to the guy who made the basket.

A player gets another chance if they pot one or more of their balls during their turn or any ball during the break, providing they did not also foul.

Any of the following fouls by a player entitles their opponent to take possession of the cue ball, place it anywhere on the table, and shoot anywhere on the table:

the cue ball being potted
not using the cue ball to strike a ball
failing to use the cue ball to first hit one of your balls
failing to pocket a ball, striking a side of the table with either ball, or hitting one of your balls
Additionally, play shifts to the opponent's turn if a player pots both their ball and an opponent's ball during their turn.

To win the game, a player must pot the black 8 ball after all of their (solid or striped) balls have been potted. Attention: you lose if you pot the 8 ball before any of your other balls. Except if you pot BOTH the cue ball and the 8 ball with your shot, fouling when shooting for the 8 ball DOES NOT result in a game loss.No matter how skilled you are with a sign in real life, playing this game is incredibly addictive as are any billiards or billiards-based games. Just be aware that you may experience some initial embarrassment while you adjust to playing the game.
